On the 22nd December 2011, one of the UK's leading independent forecourt operators, Motor Fuel Group (MFG), was sold and Highway Stops Retail Limited was launched by chief executive officer, Sharad Raja who originally jointly owned MFG.

Sharad is joined by his son Shilan Raja, along with Tony Head as development director. All three directors have considerable experience of the forecourt sector.

The team is backed by committed investors HSBC and together they are focused on growing and developing the HSRL business into one of the most efficient and profitable site by site independent forecourt operators in the UK.

With currently 16 stations situated throughout the south east of the UK operating under the BP, Esso and Shell brands, HSRL intends to continue to offer its customers premium fuel brands coupled with an attractive, competitive and expanding forecourt shop offer.

Our key objective is to make all visits to a HSRL forecourt as pleasurable as possible. We aim to provide our customers with high levels of service; good quality, competitively priced fuels and, of course, a convenient and competitive shopping experience.

Our shops will provide customers with an exceptional product range from top name brands, and ongoing value promotions. HSRL activates include the acquisition, operation and development of petrol forecourts, shop and valeting facilities, and owns a investment company (Highway Stops Investment Ltd) and distribution company (SS Convenience Distribution).
